The renowned Afro-Caribbean beverage brand SuperMalt extended a special invitation for us to join their incredible team at the London Carnival.
At the SuperMalt stand, we shared our barbering art with everyone who stopped by. The joy on their faces after receiving their haircuts was contagious, and the positive vibes and energy enveloped us all. The event was filled with gifts, surprises, music, dancing, and an explosion of colors. The best part was the sense of unity, coming together as one big family.
Who is SuperMalt?
Supermalt exists to nourish Afro-Caribbean culture, spirit, and zest for life. Supermalt is a little taste of home passed down through generations; an essential product at parties and social events, with family, while traveling, with meals, watching sports, relaxing, or re-energizing. For our community, Supermalt is more than just a drink; it’s a part of their lives.
London Carnival
Europe’s largest street festival, the Notting Hill Carnival in London, is a multicultural summer celebration. Often compared to the Rio Carnival, the event attracts around 2 million people every year.
The Notting Hill Carnival was started in 1964 by Black immigrants from the Caribbean, especially from Trinidad and Tobago, where the carnival tradition is very strong. It was later revived by a social worker, Rhaune Laslett, a Londoner of American and Russian descent. The first Notting Hill Carnival was held in 1966 in the streets of Notting Hill for the neighborhood children.
